COVENTRY — On Nov. 11, 28 veterans and their families attended the Coventry High School Veterans Day assembly, which included student speakers and motivational videos, as well as the school’s symphonic choir performing a rendition of “Taps.”

Shown above are student presenters and veterans at the event. Also, veterans were treated to a free breakfast served by members of the National Honor Society. The entire student body lined up to shake the hand of every veteran and thanked them for their service, according to school officials.

This year’s assembly was based on the acronym for veterans: V for valor; E for excellence; T for tomb of the unknowns; E for e pluribus unum; R for flag folds of remembrances; A for all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces; N for noble path of the veteran; and S for sacrifice.
